Blog » Viewpoint » Long-Term Installment Loans Long-Term Installment Loans by Sachin Singla | Jan 11, 2018 | Viewpoint With a long-terminstallment loan, you borrow a lump sum of money and pay it back with curiosity over a collection of fastened, common payments. Most conventional banks supply lengthy-time period installment loans, with some banks requiring collateral and other banks necessitating nothing however the promise to pay it back. long run loans installment loans can be a lower-interest alternative to credit cards, however they aren't appropriate for all debtors in all conditions. How Long-Term Installment Loans Work An installment loan is a mortgage of a certain sum of money that you pay again in installments, normally of an equal quantity and at regular intervals. For instance, if you take out a 3-year installment loan for $3,600 at 0% interest, you pay back $one hundred per month for 36 months. Most installment loans usually are not interest-free, however, and unsecured installment loans nearly at all times carry curiosity. A time period of 1 year or longer may be thought of long-time period, although no inflexible cutoff exists. You can get a protracted-term installment loan out of your local bank or credit score union. Search engine queries for installment mortgage corporations yield many outcomes, but train warning when making use of for a loan online. Many of those sites are scams designed to extract your delicate private data. Qualifying for an installment loan is determined by your credit score, earnings, assets and other factors. Because they regularly carry lowerinterest charges, insta llment loans tend to have more stringent standards than credit cards. As with other kinds of loans, borrowers with the most effective credit get the most effective rates of interest on installment loans. Uses for Long-Term Installment Loans One of the most well-liked uses of lengthy-term installment loans is to consolidate credit card debt at a decrease rate of interest. Doing so can save money and simplify your monthly budgeting. Instead of getting a stack of bank card payments with completely different minimum funds at completely different rates of interest, you make a single payment each month that goes toward your whole outstanding debt. Another advantage of installment loans over bank cards is that as long as you make your full fee each month, you are all the time chipping away at the principal stability. Minimum credit card payments contribute little to nothing to principal, leading to the hamster-on-a-wheel analogy; it takes lots of work to get nowhere. Moreover, if you conve rt your credit card debt to installment debt, you have a definitive finish date in sight for paying it all off. However, if you lack the self-discipline to keep away from driving your credit card debt again up, it could thwart your efforts to cut back your bank card debt via an installment loan. Some debtors preempt this scenario by chopping up their bank cards, or at least taking them out of their wallets, as quickly as the installment mortgage goes by way of. You can even get a protracted-term installment loan to make a serious purchase â€" corresponding to a new bed room set â€" which may in any other case require a hefty money outlay. Car loans are classified as lengthy-time period installment loans. These loans usually carry even better rates of interest than consolidation loans, for the reason that item you buy serves as collateral. When Not to Get a Long-Term Installment Loan A lengthy-time period installment mortgage is usually a dangerous thought if you do not want to be locked into a number of years of debt. Many installment loans have prepayment penalties that you incur should you pay them off early. Review all the paperwork, including the fine print, before signing any mortgage paperwork. Avoid an extended-time period installment loan if the month-to-month funds do not reasonably fit into your monthly finances, primarily based on your income and different debt obligations. Many lenders and private finance experts advocate that monthly debt funds not exceed 36% of your earnings. Make positive you perceive and conform to the rate and terms of your loan. Banks usually advertise low rates on private loans, even knowing that many debtors â€" typically, the bulk who apply â€" don't qualify. These borrowers get steered into greater-curiosity loans, and many debtors settle for them with out reviewing the numbers fastidiously to ensure that they'll afford the se loans. Always do your due diligence before you comply with borrow cash.

Strategies for getting a good reference

Systems for getting a decent reference At the point when I was applying to graduate school, I required three references. The main work I had done was not the reference-producing kind, such as marking signatures for Esther Williams and cleaving takes off chickens. So the references were a genuine stretch for me, and I wound up requesting that my beau keep in touch with one. I had accomplished work for him, in fact talking, so he composed it as a previous manager. Amost all the suggestion structures had a segment that stated, How might you rank this individual among all the individuals you have worked with? I requested that he state I was in the top 1%. He said that it was foolish to put top 1% on the grounds that nobody would trust it. I said he wasn't right. And afterward I increased present expectations by having a fit of rage until he consented to state in the composed piece of the suggestion that I was the most all around read individual he had ever met. In any case, things being what they are, my beau was most likely right, and the suggestion was, in fact, over the top. Individuals don't care for real suggestions, as per an investigation by Cleveland State University (by means of gradschoolstory.com). A support is progressively authentic in the event that it incorporates something pessimistic about the individual. The model in the investigation is Sometimes, John can be hard to coexist with. That appears to be a downright awful remark, yet it really improved reaction from employing chiefs than a reference with no negative remarks. This dependable guideline sounds right to me. At the point when I was recruiting, on the off chance that I required a reference and the individual seemed like they were perusing a canned discourse I limited the entire thing and called someone else on the rundown. I was continually chasing for somebody with openness. Lawful guides advise organizations to give out just the title and dates of business. Anyway David Perry , official enrollment specialist and creator of Guerrilla Marketing for Job Hunters, discloses to me that he has never had a circumstance where he couldnt get somebody to state more than that after a tad of pushing. Actually, CareerJournal gives fascinating instances of how human asset agents toe the lawful line and still give a horrendous reference on the off chance that they need to: Theyll state, Are you certain she gave you my name? or then again Check his references extremely, cautiously, or Hang on, let me get the lawful record. So regardless of whether the individual giving the reference isn't your beau, in the event that you know him quite well, you can in any case do a touch of training. For instance, offer a recommended response for when they are gotten some information about your shortcoming. Also, in the event that you are stressed you will get an awful reference from an old business, enlist a reference check firm to check your own references. (In that vein you will be glad to realize that when essential, I despite everything get a decent reference from that beau.)

Former Navy SEALs on the mistake too many leaders make

Previous Navy SEALs on the slip-up an excessive number of pioneers make Previous Navy SEALs on the misstep an excessive number of pioneers make After their first book, 2015's Outrageous Ownership, turned into a New York Times hit, Navy SEAL authorities Jocko Willink and Leif Babin before long wound up with a worldwide fan base.As time passed, and they had more collaborations with dedicated perusers through their administration counseling firm, Echelon Front, their Gather live occasions, and web-based social networking, they would now and again run into a difficult they likewise looked as SEALs: People who admired them would in general exclusively center around the forceful side of their exercises, bringing about an all out misconception of a portion of their ideals.Babin disclosed to Business Insider: We see pioneers doing that, where they state, 'I'm going to hold the line. Leif stated, it's not what you lecture. It's what you endure, so I'm going to push every known limit in my group, and we're going to consider individuals responsible.' That doesn't work.Follow Ladders on Flipboard!Follow Ladders' magazines on Flipboard c overing Happiness, Productivity, Job Satisfaction, Neuroscience, and more! It's the reason they composed another book, The Dichotomy of Leadership, that is planned to be discharged on September 25.It investigates inside and out the 12-point rundown of administration standards, each with capabilities that may at first appear to be clashing, they utilized when they served during the Iraq War. These incorporate, A pioneer must lead yet additionally be prepared to follow, and A pioneer must be sure yet never cocky. The up and coming book remains all alone but on the other hand is a continuation of Extraordinary Ownership, and follows its equivalent configuration of an exercise followed by a battle model and afterward a business example.Willink was the authority of US Navy SEAL Team Three Task Unit Bruiser, an exceptionally enlivened unique activities unit that took on in the 2006 Conflict of Ramadi. Babin was one of his two unit leaders. We talked with Willink and Babin about what's in sto re from their up and coming book. The following transcript has been altered for length and clarity.Richard Feloni: What's behind the title, and for what reason did you begin taking a shot at it?Jocko Willink: The new book is designated The Dichotomy of Leadership, which is additionally the title of the last section in Outrageous Ownership. As we kept on going out and work with different organizations and groups and associations around the globe, we found that one of the zones that individuals required assistance with the most was the zone of attempting to adjust that division. What's more, the more we worked with individuals, the more we understood we expected to investigate more cases and clarify in more detail how individuals can go excessively far one way as a pioneer. The title of the book Extraordinary Ownership - clearly it has outrageous in there - yet as a pioneer, as a rule being outrageous isn't acceptable. What you need to do is be balanced.Leif Babin: We're conversing wit h individuals like the people at Muster, who have perused the principal book. Some of them have perused it multiple times. But then they're despite everything battling to attempt to execute these exercises. What's more, as we state, they're basic, difficult. Yet, its most troublesome piece is attempting to find that balance between things like outrageous possession, where you own beginning and end in your reality, and decentralized order, where you really need to engage others and permit them to step up and lead. Where you must be a pioneer and assume responsibility and not trust that others will take care of issues, yet additionally be an adherent and go with others' arrangements and execute as though it's your own.Feloni: Can you give a case of an exercise from the new book?Willink: One of the things that we talk about in Outrageous Ownership is being default forceful. That's a stance, a mentality, where you're going to tackle issues, and you will get them illuminated. And yet, there can be times where you can turn out to be excessively forceful. In the SEAL groups, when we were preparing, we'd state to somebody who was in effect excessively forceful that you're rushing to your demise. You're running toward the issue without Thinking.you must offset that forcefulness with additionally being wary and ensuring you're evaluating the situation.Feloni: Could you share a tale from the book that delineates that concept?Babin: The battle model we talk about there is that we did a ton of things that were dangerous, that individuals thought, to be perfectly honest, were insane, or that we faced a lot of challenge. We surely attempted to alleviate all the hazard that we could control, however we comprehended the estimation of those battle tasks in Ramadi and what we were doing out there with our Iraqi troopers and our expert marksman overwatch missions, and how they bolstered that campaign. What we don't generally discuss is the operations that we turned down. We turned down various tasks that we felt were excessively hazardous. Furthermore, I talk around one of those in the book.Willink: One of the business models that I use in the book is a youthful CEO who was hoping to extend her organization, and she saw a great deal of development not too far off, thus she proceeded to recruit many individuals. She welcomed these individuals on board since she anticipated that this huge development should come. There was only a long turn time on gathering the cash from items sold, and it di dn't get up to speed in time. Thus before you know it, she was losing cash. She had a default forceful mentality, which was incredible, and when I was working with her, I was eager to see that she was being forceful. Be that as it may, when I really began taking a gander at the numbers, I understood hello, she's as a rule excessively forceful, and she's brought such a large number of individuals locally available, and now she's topsy turvy and she needs to dispose of a portion of these individuals now or probably it will be too late.Feloni: What do you need perusers to detract from it?Babin: The greatest thing that we need individuals to comprehend in this idea of parity. In many cases individuals think they are doing what we would do in a circumstance, and it's really the inverse. We saw that in the SEAL groups, where folks in Task Unit Bruiser appended to us toward the finish of our arrangement and saw a smidgen of our activities, and when they returned, they attempted to do a few things the manner in which they thought Jocko would do them, or I would do them - and they really weren't how we were doing them. Since we truly needed to find that balance. We see pioneers doing that, where they state, I'm going to hold the line. Leif stated, 'It's not what you lecture. It's what you endure,' so I'm going to bear down in my group and we're going to consider individuals responsible. And that doesn't work. In case you're criticizing individuals, in case you're a domineering pioneer that is continually in individuals' face or raising your voice and losing your temper with individuals, it doesn't work. It's not powerful. So that is truly what we're attempting to get across here with The Dichotomy of Leadership, are the real factors of finding that equalization of what is best, what works. This article initially showed up on Business Insider. You may likewise appreciate… New neuroscience uncovers 4 customs that will fulfill you Outsiders know your social class in the initial seven words you state, study finds 10 exercises from Benjamin Franklin's day by day plan that will twofold your profitability The most noticeably terrible slip-ups you can make in a meeting, as indicated by 12 CEOs 10 propensities for intellectually tough individuals

Federal Resume Example For Those Pursuing Government Jobs - Freesumes

Federal Resume Example For Those Pursuing Government Jobs Federal Resume Example For Those Pursuing Government Jobs If you’re applying for a job with the federal government, you’ve made a great decision. You’ll be working for a large, well-respected employer, and enjoy good benefits. However, you should know that your resume will need to be a bit different to earn the attention of hiring managers at government organizations. The requirements to resume formatting are more rigid, and yet you will still need to make a strong impression if you want to get considered for the position. Below we’ll share some quick resume writing tips, then provide you with a sample federal resume.Include a Complete and Accurate List of ReferencesIf you’ve never applied for a government job, your resume may not have a references section. If it does, there’s a good chance that it just has a little blurb about references being available upon request. If that’s the case, you’ll need to make some updates. Your federal resume should contain a dedicated references section with professional and personal refer ences. Each entry should contain a name, address, phone number, email address, employer, and job title. Personal and professional references should be kept separate. Before you include a reference, be sure to notify that person. You’ll want to let them know somebody will be in contact with them, and to ensure that their information is accurate.References will go at the bottom of your resume in a section titled ‘Additional Information’.Know What Else to Include in The Additional Information SectionYour references are just one part of the Additional Information section. You’ll also want to include any other information about your qualifications. Ask yourself the following questions:Have you ever held a leadership position in the community? Are you fluent in other languages?Have you written something that’s been published?Do you have expertise in any technologies that haven’t been mentioned elsewhere in your resume? What about any awards or certificates of achievement?Attentio n former scouts! If you’ve earned your Eagle or Life Scout, include this information!  The same is true for a Gold Award for Girl Scouts. Feel free to include any ROTC awards here as well.Don’t Guess! So, you aren’t sure if you started that job in October of 2015 or September. Does it really matter? Maybe you’ll just guess. After all, what difference does one month make? For government jobs, it makes a big difference. Employers in the private sector may not worry about this, but these are the kind of inaccuracies that can get your application removed from consideration. There are strict auditing practices in place, and ‘fudging’ something even a little bit is strictly forbidden. Check your records, and get all of your information correct.Lead Off With Relevant Data About HireabilityThere may be certain things about you that make you more desirable to the federal government. For example, if you are a veteran that puts you at the front of the line for many government jobs. The same applies if you are a citizen, or have a valid work visa.Did you get a particularly high score on your civil service exam? Include that information too! Have you ever had a security clearance? Include the level, and whether or not it’s still active. All of this information should go at the very top of your resume below your contact information.Don’t Worry About Resume LengthA standard resume is usually two pages at most. In fact, if yours isn’t you should definitely do some editing. A federal resume is going to be longer. If you have a lot of experience it could be exceptionally longer. Don’t worry if your resume is up to five pages long. You’re simply expected to provide information on your governmental resume that you would normally save for your job interview.Resume Sample for Federal Jobs (Word version)Download resume example (.docx)A Federal Resume Example (text version) Lawrence Sampson 225 White Oak Drive Saint Joseph, MO 64501 (314)555-1234 your@email.comSe curity Clearance: Confidential, CurrentFederal Govt. Writing a Resume For College Job

Writing a Resume For College JobWriting a resume for college job is always an essential part of the entire process and it must be written in a clear, straightforward manner to provide your employer with a positive impression. The resume should be as concise as possible and without unnecessary fluff.Your resume should not take up more than half of the page so that the other half can be used for personal details such as academic history, employment history, work experiences, awards and commendations. The resume can be divided into four sections: education, skills, work experience and personal information. It is advisable to place the education section at the top or at the left of the page and the skills section at the right. It is important to highlight your educational history because employers may ask you about it in your interview. Include the type of course you are pursuing, the college you attended and the name of the university. Besides this, you can also list your grade average a nd list the courses you completed. These details will help your employer determine whether you have the potential to succeed at a particular college.Describe your career goals clearly so that your interviewer can easily recognize them. This will help him choose the proper job for you. You can put these objectives under three areas: monetary goals, professional goals and social goals.Employers are looking for people who are enthusiastic and who are prepared to take on new challenges. If you find the job an exciting one, chances are that your prospective employer will not mind giving you the chance to apply for the job.Lists of personal achievements are quite useful in resumes and should be emphasized. Your employer will be impressed by how you managed to excel in school while doing your mandatory work and it will be helpful if you include some achievements under your career goals. It is advisable to list all your accomplishments separately. Your employer will be able to see what kind of personality traits you possess and will appreciate your honesty. You can also list all your achievements on a separate sheet of paper, because employers will not like to read a long list of achievements. You can even make up a few pages to list all your achievements if you feel the need to do so. By doing this, you can still include accomplishments that are not directly related to the job you applied for, but can prove that you are intelligent and self-driven.

While numerous working environments are business easygoing, if your activity is formal attire, you dont need to be agonizing over going out on the town to shop on your path home from your first day since you dont have the correct garments. Plan everything ahead of time, as you would for a meeting, so you will be agreeable and reasonably attired from the beginning. Arrive early. Ensure that you discover to what extent it will take you to get the opportunity to work. The timely riser gets the worm isnt only a trite platitude; its an update that when you seem arranged and prepared, youll set yourself in a place to succeed. Plan how to present yourself. You thought your lift pitch was history since you have work? One moment. How would you like to acquaint yourself with new partners? Think past, My name is What do you need them to recollect about you? What would you like to be known for? Make certain to take a shot at your eye to eye connection, a wonderful grin and a strong handshake. The entirety of this will add to the initial introduction that your partners have of you. Recall names. Dont be the person who tells everybody youre not great with names. Individuals will be dazzled with somebody who takes the time and exertion to become familiar with their names. Focus on this. A couple of tips: Use people groups names when they are presented. State, Nice to meet you, Sara. In the event that you didnt get the name, or are uncertain of the articulation, request that the individual recurrent their name, and put forth a genuine attempt to learn it. Take notes so youll recall individuals later. For instance, write down something to assist you with coordinating another partners name and face. Another stunt? Make a relationship with the people name. In the event that Tom is tall, think, Tall Tom and youre bound to recollect it later. Arrange your workspace. Glance around to perceive how others arrange their regions. On the off chance that nobody else has individual things or photographs out, consider keeping your territory away from those kinds of things. Remember, on the off chance that you look messy at work, individuals will accept you arent sufficiently efficient to oversee significant undertakings. All that you do makes an impression. Exploit your new status to pose great inquiries. Theres never a superior time to pose inquiries than when you start an occupation. Dont pass up on this chance to discover what youll need to know to carry out your responsibility well. Be cautious, however, not to pose inquiries that sound like you are stirring things up when you start the activity. Keep your inquiries to things that you are interested about and attempt to spare the Why do you do it that path rather than this other way? kinds of requests for later on. Be a decent audience. Nobody at work needs to attempt to show you something and to later discover that you were staring off into space as opposed to tuning in. Ensure that you remain centered and listen cautiously, particularly when you first beginning work. In the event that you tend to allow your psyche to meander, be on alarm and keep it from influencing your work. Be certain. Everybody anticipates that you should be glad to be busy working when you start a new position. Remain positive and peppy, and try to seem pleased to be there. Regardless of whether it isnt your fantasy work, go about as though it is. Dont jolt toward the day's end. Particularly when you start a new position, dont be a clock watcher. It cannot damage to remain a little past your assigned hours with the goal that everybody sees that youre progressively keen on taking care of business and less keen on running for the entryway. Israels Poverty Line Not What You Think

Israel's Poverty Line Not What You Think 2 Israel's poverty line is supposed to define who is poor and who isn't. But does it? Just like when another wave of layoffs is announced, you've probably heard about the poverty line in the media when the numbers are shocking enough to make headlines. How are poverty lines chosen? Governments and organizations choose their own definitions of who is poor based on one of these methods: The ability to buy a specific basket of goods needed for living at socially accepted minimum People receiving Social Security payments or “income insurance” (bituach hachnasa in Israel) Having earnings equal or below a certain fixed amount, such as a (fraction of a) country's monthly minimum wage or whether people are reaching a “$1 a day” level Having a monthly income below a number relative to an average income of a country's population How is Israel's poverty line defined? Chosen in the 1970's, Israel uses a variation of the last method with the official definition of Israel's poverty line being fixed at 50% of Israeli households' median monthly disposable income. In other words, if you made a long list of each Israeli household's monthly income, sorted the values from highest to lowest and then pulled out the number that was in the exact middle of the list, a poor Israeli household is one earning less than half that number. To make that definition more meaningful, the National Insurance Institute (Bituach Leumi) publishes tables every year showing how much the poverty line is valued in shekels with the numbers split by family size, age group or other criteria.eval For example, here's a table from 2006/7: Poverty Line by Family Size Average values for 2006/7 (NIS per month) Percentage of average salary Number of family members 2,028 26.9 1 3,244 43.0 2 4,299 57.0 3 5,191 68.8 4 6,083 80.6 5 6,894 91.4 6 7,705 102.1 7 8,435 111.8 8 9,084 120.4 9 Pros vs. cons of this definition Pro â€" being based on the median and not the national average monthly disposable income means that if the ultra-rich get ultra-richer, their earnings won't distort the poverty line. Con â€" if the cost of living in Israel changes drastically e.g. due to inflation, the current definition won't show any difference in the population's ability to cope with the change. Con â€" this definition doesn't take into account pre-existing assets. If I have a Mercedes-Benz convertible but no monthly income due to a recent layoff, should I be considered poor? Changes on the way? People have been pushing for an updated definition for years and according to TheMarker (Hebrew), a government-appointed committee came to some conclusions last year. Based on which, the Treasury will push for a change in the 2009 budget that the poverty line take into account new indicators like household assets and monthly spending.eval If you liked this article, you'll enjoy The Ultimate Global Guide to Job Salaries in 2008.

UK Universities Have Let Down International Students

UK Universities Have Let Down International Students Last week it was finally announced that London Metropolitan University will have its highly trusted status licence revoked. It was disappointing that the news of London Metropolitan University had already been leaked before the official announcement. Then came the statement by the Vice-Chancellor of London Met, along with some bureaucratic words from the UKBA ,and finally social media started its own shenanigans with support for the London Met and thrashing of Coalition education policy. Wonderful. Amazing. Brilliant. And so Hypocritical. Universities and Students Unions in Britain now care about International Students? Since when? Oh, I will tell you: since the time that they realised, holy lord, we will lose the exponential sums of money from these students i.e. what is happening with London Met. I will be honest what has happened at London Met, is not at all surprising to me. Its not news. Universities and Students Unions gave up and lost the trust of International Students ages ago. 1. Coalition Policy -Students As Immigrants Remember the pledges the Coalition made of reducing the immigration numbers for Britain? Well, good, I dont know the economics behind it. But what a farce when you use a number of students entering the UK for studies as immigrants? Universities in the UK and Students Union gave up on International students then, didnt they? Well done. 2. Closing the PSW Visa Scheme Students Were Sold a Lie GCSE English result goalposts were moved mid-term and schools were rightly angered at it. Consequently, they raised their voices in support of students. Now, rewind 1 year back. The Coalition announces that as of 6th April 2012, PSW Visa Scheme will be closed. All the international students in the UK went, hold on our University advertised to us this 2 year Post Study Work visa after graduation, what happens to that? Answer Nobody cares. Universities and their Students Unions left international students high and dry. I dont have quarrels with closing the PSW visa: the elected government of Britain makes the rules, but why didnt they set this rule for new students entering, rather than those currently in the UK? 3. London Met Another Slap for International Students London Met as university, was found by UKBA to be non-compliant to its practices and audits. Fine, they should be punished. But again, why ask the current international students in the university to face the flak? Stop further international students coming to London Met, but those that are here legally, why are they put under the stress and in a way asked to get out? International Students Pay Fees with No-Guarantee? Of all the three points raised above, there is massive support and sympathy amongst universities for the students mentioned in the third point. Support for London Met. Why were they quiet, probably having roast turkey and wine for dinner, whilst commenting, oh well, too bad. I will tell you why: because London Met will not get more international students and that means less money coming in. Whilst in the other two points, students will pay or had already paid their tuition fees. Thats cool, isnt it. Once the student pays £13,000 per year and signs up for 3-4 years, then who cares if the rules change in the meantime or the student is stressed out? This is the story of UK Universities at the moment. I graduated from a British university and I enjoyed it. Britain is a lovely place to stay and study, but currently I am dismayed that my friends and fellow international students are left high and dry. International Students are sold a dream whilst in their own country, before realising that every rule in the book can be torn and their Universities and Students Unions have no power to help them.  Image Credit: Thammiesy 22

Street musicians giving away money - The Chief Happiness Officer Blog

Street musicians giving away money - The Chief Happiness Officer Blog I saw something really cool today: A choir of 10 or 12 middle-aged swedish men were singing in one of the squares in central Copenhagen (they were really good, btw). On the ground in front of them, theyd placed a cap, and people of course put in money. And heres the twist: One of the men then started giving the money away. He took the cap and gave money to a kid standing there with his mother and to a homeless guy sitting on the ground. Then they went around to other people collecting more money (I gave what change I had). I saw them again further down the street, giving away some of that money to a guy collecting for Africa. So they werent really collecting, they were redistributing. Nifty. Actually I think it might have been a bachelor party, but a remarkably well behaved and generous one, in that case. Motivation Monday Live It

Motivation Monday Live It We are only here for a finite period of time.   How much of that time will you be able to say you have truly lived? Job search is a tiny blip of your life. You have a choice to live it or get stuck in it. We have choices to make and I strongly believe that your outlook determines your outcome.   How will you choose to live during your transition to a new job? Can I put this into perspective a bit? My son, who is in the second grade (thats 8 years old, if you dont recall), just lost one of his classmates.   She was a spunky beautiful girl who didnt let her cancer slow her down.   Maybe she didnt know it was supposed to. She lived. Even going to the hospital for treatments was an adventure for her. I could go on and tell you more wonderful stories about how she lived her short life, but I think you probably have your own example to draw from. Cancer touches the lives of too many people. My neighbor was diagnosed with terminal cancer this summer.   He is the father of two children, a 4 year old and a two year old. He is living his life day by day with his children and his wife, enjoying each moment he has with them. These stories, so close in time and so close to me, are a reminder that I have so much to be thankful for.   Any problem I have seems miniscule in comparison. What can I possibly complain about. What will you do this week to live your life? What dream do you need to fulfill? And what is stopping you?

Hallie Recommends You Can Heal Your Life Louise Hay - Hallie Crawford

Hallie Recommends “You Can Heal Your Life” Louise Hay This is a great book I use frequently to help me determine what issues or stress may be showing up in my body as a pain or illness. I believe in the mind-body connection so I think that our illnesses are in part a manifestation of what is going on in our lives. The book lists different ailments and what their probable causes are. For example, Ive noticed over the years a direct correlation between my stress level and tightness in my neck. When I get stressed, it tends to be because I cant figure out a problem or find another way of looking at an issue to help me solve it. I feel like the problem has to be solved in one way and if that way doesnt work, Im unsure what will work and sometimes I freak out. So I either call my coach or consult my Louise Hay book ?? Louise Hay says neck problems represent an inabililty to see other sides of a problem. The affirmation she lists for allieviating neck pain is There are endless ways of doing things and seeing things. After reading that, Ahhhh, I breathe deeply again. So check out her book. I find it is very useful. Here’s a link to it on Amazon: Louise Hay You Can Heal Your Life. Be well, Hallie www.HallieCrawford.com

Writing a Resume - How to Write a Resume That Makes You Stand Out

Writing a Resume - How to Write a Resume That Makes You Stand OutNot sure how to write a resume? Below are a few tips on writing a resume that will make you stand out and it will show you are truly a professional and knowledgeable.First, write your resume on a large sheet of paper. No computers please. An overview of your experiences would be better if you could have a separate document for each job you have had, as that's an essential element in the resume process. If you do have some experiences, then include the dates on the page, together with dates of certifications. Perhaps, something like AFI-100 (Association of Foreign Educators-Certification); Certified Teacher Educator-Certification; or Commissioned Officer-Certification. A list of your greatest accomplishments and leadership roles is always beneficial to employers. Another worthwhile detail to include is your teaching certification and letter of application.Next, think about how you will present your resume to an employer. Do you want to present it as a single document or as two separate documents? There is no right or wrong answer to this question; it depends on your own personal decision. If you want to present your resume as a single document, then you can break the document into sections. Include the major events you attended during your educational career; awards you earned; awards given; contact information for your supervisor's; information regarding your research projects; and lastly, an executive summary. The emphasis here is on allowing an employer to see the main ideas that you have expressed in the job, and what skills you brought to the table. Showing an employer that you are a reliable and trustworthy person. However, if you are going to submit a resume, there are no rules that say you cannot split your resume into two documents. All that can happen is that the employer can see the overall overview of your work history. If you are going to do this, then be sure to write up a statement of t he following: why you want the job, your teaching philosophy and why you will best help the company out by being bilingual, and why you believe this particular position is in high demand. Be sure to include a list of references. The purpose of this resume is to demonstrate to the employment search committee that you are a serious candidate who is committed to higher education. You can do this, or you can make an employer jump through hoops to get your job. Either way, you will be praised and recognized for your hard work. That's a major reason why employers use a resume as a way to differentiate between worthy and less-than-worthy candidates.

Parenting that is. If youre thinking of becoming a parent, its important to know your companys policies in regards to parents. Does your employer offer paid maternity and paternity leave? If so, how much leave do they provide? What other programs or policies does your company have in distribution policy to help working parents?Paid maternity and paternity leave is about more than just getting a break from your job for a few weeks. Its been proven that significant paid leave leads to healthier babies and happier parents. Postpartum depression increases when the mother receives less than 12 weeks of maternity leave or eight weeks paid leave. When it comes to supporting parents in the workplace, leid all companies are equal. Out of 196 countries in the world, there are only four that do not have federally mandated maternity leave policies. Unfortunately, the United States is one of them.
